Hello, Rippaverse®!
Three books were promised as part of our 2023 release slate. ISOM #2 was always going to be the next project. Then, last week, we teased the book that would follow Ill-Advised Part 2 with Alphacore #1 this fall by the legendary Chuck Dixon! But what would come after that? If you follow us on our social media platforms and YouTube channel, then you saw yesterday’s incredible Rippaverse news: the Twisted Twins, known as the Soska Sisters, have joined The Rippaverse to write Yaira #1!
Known for their independent work in the horror film scene, Jen and Sylvia Soska look to bring their dark and dramatic flare to the first title issue of one of the breakout, fan-favorite characters who debuted in ISOM #1! The sisters are also known best in comics for their 5-issue miniseries Black Widow: No Restraints Play at Marvel, which is lauded as among the character’s best stories. Fans of the first ISOM book remember well the introduction of this tall, cool, blonde powerhouse, but little else is known publicly at this time. Those of you who were lucky enough to get in on the Dokumaan trading cards got to learn a bit more about Yaira, but there’s still so much left to reveal, and Jen and Sylvia were more than up to the task!
The Soska Sisters had this to say about joining The Rippaverse and their excitement for getting to write Yaira #1,
“The book is coming at you guys fast! We’re huge comic book fans, and to be able to write issue #1 for a brand-new character is the honor of a lifetime! We’ve been working very hard behind the scenes, and we cannot wait to share what we’ve been working on!”
Since the announcement yesterday, Jen and Sylvia have shown immense enthusiasm on their Twitter for the project and their appreciation for Rippaverse® fans showing it right back at them.
It’s shaping up to be a fantastic slate of content for our fans this year, and we’re so amped to get these books into your hands! We hope you’re as hyped as we are to see more of Jen and Sylvia’s project, including learning about the yet-to-be-announced interior artist.
