Wow! Got mine today (10/5) and it is impressive. High quality, great art and story, and it is a huge book. Can’t wait for Ill-advised part 2!

I love you Eric, and I want to be honest with you. I wanted to say this is the greatest comic ever made, but I just can’t do it. I hope by leaving my honest feed back that maybe some of the issues I had with the comic can be addressed.
(SPOILERS!!!)
My number one issue with the book are the action scenes. They just don’t really flow naturally. There would be two panels and in one panel Isom would have a security guard by the arm and in the next the security guard would be on the ground in a way that doesn’t feel natural, and that happened several other times. I feel like I have to do some mental gymnastics to get to point A to B.
The second thing is the writing isn’t the best thing I’ve ever read. Please don’t take this as an insult, I’m just trying to be honest. I want the Rippaverse to be a huge success. (I really do!). More than once I had a hard time understanding what the characters were talking about, and more than once there were characters who spoke in a way that made me think “people don’t talk like that.” A lot of that was coming from Santwan. This is the first time I’ve come across this character but I certainly didn’t think he would be the type to say the line “we should have insured his defeat”. Some scenes where weird too. Santwan throws Isom out the club and directly into Yaira who was in a completely different conflict just outside the club?! That’s a cataclysmic coincidence and unintentionally hilarious to boot! I know this is the first issue but a lot of the events in this book didn’t seem to come about as naturally as I’d like. It gave me Batman vs Superman vibes when it became clear DC was rushing into Justice League to catch up to Marvel. I think events need to breath a bit more. Don’t be afraid to stick to one thing at a time or even just two things.
As for the good, I’m really hyped for this set of characters and can’t wait to see how their stories unfold. Yaira and Alpha Core in particular are pretty interesting in design and am looking forward to seeing more of them. The art work is solid, aside from the action scenes this is a really awesome looking book. The colorist did a great job as well and the scenes really popped! The villains are just as important (maybe even more important) than the hero’s. Darren and Santwan are a great start! Looking forward to seeing how Darren got all his power and Santwan is a great brute with what sounds like an interesting past. Wish there was more Yaira but she definitely has my attention!
You weren’t kidding about the quality of the book ether! I got cover A and I couldn’t be happier with it. Your a man of your word Eric and I’m looking forward to see what you do next.

This is a decent story especially for a platform and universe launcher. The second story arc touched on in the latter half of the comic had me the most excited to see where that will go next but the Isom story arc is definitely well structured and the artwork gives me like #75 death of superman vibes but with a little new school cleaner finish to the coloring and penciling. Without getting into spoilers I can say the story was intriguing and has me wanting to get more from this comic universe. I feel like there could have been a little more in depth touches on exactly what excepts are and what their origin is but I know that will come in the future and maybe I will appreciate the fact that it wasn’t all exposition dumped in the first comic coming out of the Rippaverse. I want to know more about Norfrica and exactly what is going on with them and how they fit into the world and what they are as far as villains, heroes, anti-heroes and the same goes for Yaira and the Alphacore. Santwan looks like a brute force with a chip on his shoulders and possibly a future major villain towards ISOM. The Hospital section of the book has me wondering what the doctors saying what they said is all about seems there is more to Excepts than meets the eye. Can’t wait for ISOM issue #2 and other characters that come from the Rippaverse. Money and time well spent with this comic.
