BEHOLD – THE FIRST ANTHOLOGY SERIES FROM THE RIPPAVERSE!!!

Jen & Sylvia Soska

That’s right, ladies & gentlemen, The Rippaverse is one of the fastest growing independent comic companies in North America, and there is no slowing down. We present SAINTS & SINNERS, our first anthology series, with stories from Rippaverse founder and owner, Eric July, the Silverback himself, Az from HeelvsBabyface, the author of the Achromatic Chronicles and pirate historian, Drunk 3PO aka Jay David, the Cthulhu master of the long form, MauLer, the brilliant writer and YouTube personality, Critical Drinker, and horror directors & lore masters of the Rippaverse, the Soska Sisters.

The idea came from the conventions – there are so many of us who work together and then meet the fans together – what if we all wrote a collective anthology together? What would that look like? We reached out to several artists and came back with this incredible lineup of talent. The requirements? Write a story introducing new characters to the Rippaverse while incorporating our world into the narrative. The result was new writers with new artists broadening the universe with some killer creativity. Maybe you’ll even be seeing these creatives continue with their own full books and releases. Perhaps with the very stories you are about to read in these pages. Imaginably, you may even see these writers taking on some of your favorite characters in the Rippaverse for new adventures. The sky is the limit!

So why Saints & Sinners? Have you preordered your copies of Isom #3, the conclusion to the Ill-Advised arc yet? Some BIG answers in those pages for you. Without spoiling it, this touches on and expands the lore of the Rippaverse. The first time we sat down with Eric in person, he told us about his vision for the universe, which was such a unique and clever approach to the power set that we had never seen it done before. It was inspiring and planted so many seeds of how that mythology can be worked into the universe as it expands, and how it would affect the characters within it. There is a source material that is familiar to us all that is being utilized, but never like this before. When you do read Isom #3, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.

Every one of the talents engaged in Saints & Sinners is a writer who loves the medium, whether they’ve taken the time to publish or if this is their very first publication. Sometimes an opportunity just needs to arise to make it possible for the stories to flow. One thing that really sets the Rippaverse apart is the passion for the medium that all these creators possess. To read a story by someone who truly cares about the art form is noticeable. When it’s for the right reason and from fellow fans, you can always spot the difference.

You now know the writing talent, but who are the artists who have teamed up to bring their vision to life?

The Weight of Restraint, written by Eric July, is being illustrated by Elias Martins. Since 2008, Elias started as a penciller and inker for great publishing companies in the United States and Europe. His first comic for Arcana Press, Corrective Measures, became a movie on TUBI, starring Bruce Willis and Michael Rooker. He also has his own comic book that you can check out on Amazon called STOP!

Chasing Ghosts, written by Az from HeelvsBabyface, has the interior artwork done by Diogenes Neves, a Brazilian comic artist known for his extremely detailed, meticulous work. He has utilized his background in advertising and illustration, eventually being noticed by DC Comics, where he went on to work on titles such as Wonder Woman, Teen Titans, Nightwing, Superman, Justice League of America, Martian Manhunter, and Suicide Squad.

A Cross to Bear, written by Drunk 3PO aka Jay David, is being drawn by Cris Bolson. A veteran artist, Cris has been working since the 1990s for companies such as Radical Comics, IDW, Dynamite, and Marvel. His work includes working on titles like Star Wars: Target Vader, Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Hercules and the Knives of Kush, & Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor.

Bone God, written by MauLer, is getting its artwork from Will Conrad. Will Conrad is a legend in the business and no stranger to the Rippaverse, having been the artist for Goodyng: The Polymath as well as several fan favorite covers, such as Yaira #2 foil cover C. He is a Brazilian artist who has worked with DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse, AWA, 2000 AD, and many others.

One Little Push, written by Will Jordan, aka The Critical Drinker, has visuals for his book being drawn by Carlos Reno. An illustrator and penciller from Brazil, Carlos has worked with Big Dog Ink, Dynamite, Chaos!, Lion Forge, Double Take, and Titan Comics. Some of his most notable works are on titles such as The Legend of Oz and Doctor Who Special.

The Underdog, written by the Soska Sisters, has Rippaverse auteur and industry legend Cliff Richards working on the book. His work on Isom made the series that started the company a standout for fans with his dedication to character-driven storytelling and great action sequences. He is known for many books, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, Bruce Wayne: The Road Home, and many others.

The Saints & Sinners anthology is set to release in May 2025 from the Rippaverse and is sure to be a coveted item to bring to conventions and meet-ups to have your favorite creators sign it! We are very excited to present it and are looking forward to your response.

As a great man once said – LFG!!!
