Recently, we reached out to our community through a subscriber-exclusive survey asking for your feedback on RippaZine, and the response was incredible. Your insights, suggestions, and ideas have helped us shape the future of the magazine, ensuring it becomes even better with every issue.
Today, we want to share the key takeaways from your feedback and what we’re planning moving forward. Whether you’re already a subscriber or considering jumping on board, there’s never been a better time to be part of what’s happening in RippaZine!
What Is RippaZine?
Before we dive into the survey results, let’s take a moment to explain what RippaZine is for those just joining us.
The term RippaZine is a playful combination of “Rippaverse”—our ever-expanding universe—and “magazine.” We often call the Zine a ‘taster’ or ‘sampler’ since it has a little bit of everything about what we produce. This publication serves as a behind-the-scenes gateway into everything happening across our world, from creator interviews and sneak peeks of upcoming releases to deep dives into original short stories and worldbuilding insights.
It’s more than just updates — it’s your inside look at the creative engine powering the Rippaverse. And for collectors? It offers something truly special: Limited Collector’s Editions that are destined to become prized gems in any comic book collection. These rare editions don’t last long, so keep an eye out.
With that in mind, let’s dive into what you told us in our most recent RippaZine feedback survey — and how we’re making changes based on what you said.
Your Favorite Sections
We asked which parts of the magazine you enjoyed the most, and a clear pattern emerged as the top four champs of the Zine.:
- #1: Short Stories — No surprise here! Our readers love diving into the vibrant, original tales crafted by our talented writers. Short stories remain the heartbeat of RippaZine, and we’re thrilled you want even more.
- #2: Featured Articles and Interviews — Getting to know creators, contributors, and the people behind the stories is something you value. We’ll continue to spotlight new and familiar faces in upcoming issues.
- #3: Art Tutorials — You enjoy learning the techniques and skills behind the art you see in the pages of Rippaverse comics. These tutorials aren’t going anywhere, and we’ll look at making them even more interactive.
- #4: Bird’s Eye View — Our snapshot-style updates and worldbuilding tidbits through Bird’s Eye View have become a fan favorite. We hear you loud and clear that you want more from this section!
What You Want More Of
We also asked what you wanted to see added or expanded, and the results were exciting:
- Serialized Short Stories — The idea of ongoing stories that unfold issue by issue was by far the most requested addition. We’re already working on ways to introduce serialized storytelling into RippaZine, so stay tuned!
- Behind-the-Scenes Content — Readers are hungry for a closer look at how the magic happens. From concept art to script breakdowns, you’ll start seeing more BTS glimpses inside future issues.
- Creator and Contributor Spotlights — You want to meet the people behind the pages, and we couldn’t agree more. We’ll be including more interviews, Q&As, and profiles of the artists and writers you love.
What You Told Us in the Comments
Your specific comments gave us even deeper insight into how to improve, and we want to highlight a few key themes:
- More Original Characters — Many readers requested the introduction of more brand-new characters, especially younger ones. Building the future generation of heroes (and villains!) is high on our list, and you’ll see fresh faces coming soon…
- Fan Letters Page — Several of you asked for a dedicated space where fans can send in letters, questions, and thoughts — and have them answered by the RippaZine team. We’ll look into this for future issues!
- Dedicated RippaZine Serialized Series — In addition to general serialized short stories, you asked for a RippaZine-exclusive series — a continuing adventure only available through the magazine.
- Expand Bird’s Eye View Again — Some of you noted that Bird’s Eye View #3 felt too small compared to previous installments. You missed its bigger format and wanted it to have its own page again. We hear you loud and clear!
- Less Preview, More Original Content — While you enjoy seeing previews of upcoming books, you made it clear you prefer more original stories and features in the magazine.
- More Dirty Deeds Stories — Dirty Deeds has quickly become a fan favorite, and many of you asked for more content following these outlaws’ adventures. Stay tuned!
What’s Next for RippaZine?
Thanks to your feedback, we’re growing and evolving RippaZine into something even stronger. We cannot make promises at this time, but everything is on the table for discussion. The RippaZine always wants to keep your preferences in mind. Some of these requests are being implemented immediately in the next issue, while others may take a few more releases to lock in.
