  • Global Distribution Expansion: Hachette Book Group becomes the exclusive worldwide retail and wholesale sales and distribution partner for Rippaverse Publishing beginning July 6, 2026, expanding access to bookstores, libraries, big-box retailers, comic shops, and international markets.
  • Direct-to-Consumer Operations Remain Unchanged: Rippaverse Publishing will continue operating directly through rippaverse.com, with the Hachette partnership serving as an expansion of sales channels rather than a replacement of its existing business model.
  • Built for Long-Term Growth: With over 100,000 units of Isom #1 sold and more than $15 million in direct-to-consumer sales since 2022, the partnership creates long-term infrastructure for trade retail placement, library distribution, and future international expansion across both the Rippaverse and RippaSend imprints.

Rippaverse Publishing, the leading independent American comic book and graphic novel publisher founded by Eric D. July in 2022, today announced that it has signed a world-rights sales and distribution agreement with Hachette Book Group (HBG). Effective July 6, 2026, HBG will join Rippaverse’s existing direct-to-consumer operation as the company’s exclusive worldwide retail and wholesale sales and distribution partner, bringing Rippaverse comic books and graphic novels to a broader global audience through bookstores, libraries, and major retail channels while joining HBG’s distinguished slate of third-party client publishers.

Under the agreement, HBG will sell and distribute Rippaverse Publishing titles across all retail and wholesale accounts in all territories worldwide, encompassing both of the company’s imprints: Rippaverse, the flagship line carrying the core shared universe continuity, and RippaSend, which publishes creator-owned titles under the Rippaverse Publishing umbrella. Through HBG’s distribution network, Rippaverse titles will reach trade bookstores, big-box retailers, library systems, comic specialty retailers, and wholesale accounts across the United States, Canada, and international markets.

Rippaverse Publishing’s direct-to-consumer operation through rippaverse.com is not affected by the agreement and will continue to operate as it has for the past four years. The HBG partnership represents an expansion of channel reach, not a replacement of any existing operation.

Rippaverse Publishing Partners with Hachette Book Group to Expand Global Distribution

“This is the next evolution of what we set out to build,” said Eric July, founder and CEO of Rippaverse Publishing. “We spent the last four years proving the demand existed by going directly to readers ourselves, and we built a real publishing company around that demand. Hachette Book Group is the partner that lets us take everything we’ve built and put it on shelves and in libraries around the world without changing what makes Rippaverse what it is. Their team understood our company from the first conversation, and they made it clear they were here to expand what we do, not to reshape it. That alignment is rare, and it is the reason we said yes when we have said no to many others.”

Rippaverse Publishing Builds a Best-Selling Independent Comics Catalog with Industry Veterans and Original Characters

Rippaverse Publishing has built one of the most active independent comics and graphic novel catalogs in the United States, with original characters including Isom, Alphacore, Yaira, and The Horseman anchoring the flagship Rippaverse shared universe. The company has worked with a roster of acclaimed industry veterans and emerging talent across both imprints, including legendary writer Chuck Dixon, filmmakers and writers Jen and Sylvia Soska, artist Caanan White, and writer Carrow Brown, among many others.

The company’s flagship debut, Isom #1, launched in July 2022 and has surpassed 100,000 units sold, making it one of the best-selling independent comic launches of the modern era. Across its first four years of operation, Rippaverse Publishing has surpassed $15 million in sales — entirely through its direct-to-consumer channel — establishing the company as one of the largest new American comic and graphic novel publishers to emerge in its market in a generation.

Hachette Partnership Expands Rippaverse Publishing into Trade Bookstores, Libraries, and Big-Box Retail

The agreement with HBG positions Rippaverse Publishing for entry into the broader book trade — a distribution ecosystem distinct from the comic specialty market and historically out of reach for independent comics publishers operating at most scales. Through HBG’s infrastructure, Rippaverse titles will be available through general bookstores, big-box retail, public and academic library systems, and library wholesalers — channels that collectively represent tens of thousands of points of sale across the U.S. and internationally.

Comic specialty retailers, who have previously ordered Rippaverse titles directly through the company’s retailer portal, will additionally gain access to Rippaverse books through their existing direct market distribution channels under the HBG partnership.

The agreement also creates the long-term infrastructure for foreign-language editions and international retail placement in territories outside the U.S. and Canada, expansions Rippaverse Publishing intends to pursue on a deliberate, market-by-market basis in the years following the partnership launch.

Why This Partnership with Rippaverse and Hachette Matters

This agreement positions Rippaverse Publishing as one of the few independent comic book publishers to successfully expand from direct-to-consumer sales into global trade distribution, giving bookstores, libraries, and new readers access to one of the fastest-growing independent comics publishers in the United States.

July 2026 Launch Schedule and New Publishing Announcements for Rippaverse Titles

Rippaverse Publishing has prepared its publishing slate to align with the July 6, 2026 partnership launch, including an adjusted release schedule for select forthcoming titles to maximize availability across both direct and trade channels. Additional details on launch titles, scheduling, and rollout will be announced by Rippaverse Publishing in the weeks ahead.
