We might be in the heart of summer, but it’s never too soon to be dreaming of Halloween. Just hot off the presses, the Rippaverse is proud to reveal its first look at the cover art for BLOODRUTH #1 by the incredible Caanan White.
Sydnee Bloodruth: A Fan Favorite
Sydnee Bloodruth was created by Rippaverse founder and owner Eric July and made her very first appearance in Isom #2. Ever since then, Bloodruth has quickly become a fan favorite and one of the most requested characters in the entire Rippaverse. Hearing the voices of the fans, Eric July assigned this highly anticipated book and hero to the Soska Sisters, the company’s resident horror directors, to create the first official horror book from the Rippaverse.
Caanan White’s Stunning Artwork
The very first sneak padseek at BLOODRUTH #1 came when the gorgeous interiors and inks were revealed with stunning art by Michael Montenat, the winner of the Isom #2 Fan Art contest. While little has been revealed about the actual story of the book, the art itself gives away a few hints to the most astute of eyes.
This is the to-die-for artwork from the wonderful Caanan White that will be BLOODRUTH #1 Cover A. Caanan White last teamed with the Soska Sisters on Yaira #1, also being the acclaimed artist behind Yaira #1 Cover A, which went on to be the most popular cover released. Just like last time, only Cover D will be the mass-produced cover available for BLOODRUTH #1, making Caanan White’s Cover A a limited edition. It is highly recommended that if you love this Cover A, do not hesitate to pick it up. Caanan has an outstanding ability to bring Rippaverse characters to life, highlighting their unique personalities and traits. This beautiful Cover A is no exception.
Graphic Novel Teasers and Insights
The art also gives hints as to what or who may appear in BLOODRUTH #1 when the book is released later this year. When Sydnee Bloodruth made her dynamic debut in Isom #2, she brought with her some curious creature companions, including a pair of otherworldly wolves and a magnificent violet dragon. How they came to be allies may be explored in BLOODRUTH #1, but you can rest assured these lethal guardians will be returning to help best serve their mistress. Not yet revealed are the two new characters who appear in Caanan White’s sensational art. A male and female are seen on opposite sides of Sydnee Bloodruth, but who are they, and how do they fit into her story? Only time will tell, but let the fan theories commence…
Anticipation for BLOODRUTH #1
What we do know is that BLOODRUTH #1 will be the first official horror book from the Rippaverse, and work is well underway in hopes that this first issue will arrive in time for Halloween this year. Being a horror comic book with over 90 pages of bloody beauty and brutality, this book is for adults unless, of course, you are raising your very own little Soska Sister. This comic book deals with mature scenes, violence, graphic gore, disturbing situations, and suggested nudity. If that sounds like fun to you, get ready to watch the Soska Sisters do what they do best – keep you awake with nightmares while begging for more.
The Plot Thickens: Sydnee Bloodruth’s Mission
Sydnee Bloodruth comes to Florespark with a flair for hunting Hellions. She found an underground growing menace alongside Avery in Isom #2, but things are far from well. Someone in her line of work only goes where she is called, where she is most needed. Things are about to get downright devilish in the Rippaverse, and Sydnee Bloodruth is our greatest hope for standing against the forces of darkness.
